• Observation Data from EdReflect

• Renaissance Learning STAR Reading Data

• Renaissance Learning Early Literacy Data

• iStation Assessment Data

• Teacher Observations

Priorities

 • Increase reading achievement of all students

• Increase summative assessment scores

• Establish a strong professional learning community within the school

Goals

• Teachers and administrators will build a safe, supportive, and collaborative culture to increase student achievement and growth in reading.

Rationale

• If administration conducts walkthroughs, provides feedback, and monitors progress, and if teachers follow instructional practices prescribed by the science of reading, then students will read the majority of the instructional day and monitor their own progress.

District Literacy Plan

• All teachers and administrators will be trained in the science of reading.

• Implementation of science of reading strategies will be monitored.

• Student growth in reading will be monitored through STAR reading and iStation assessments, and progress monitoring of students in RTI groups.

 • Collaborative team meetings will be held bi-weekly to provide support for implementation of reading strategies and monitoring of student growth in reading.

 • Appropriate interventions will be provided to students in need of additional support.

• Curriculum programs used at all grade levels K-8:

 a. Renaissance Learning

 b. Evan Moor Paired Text and Informational Text

c. Evan Moor Daily Academic Vocabulary

d. Benchmark Learning Phonics and Word Study Programs

e. Lexia Core 5

f.  Lexia PowerUp Literacy

Prioritization of Funding

• Enhanced Student Achievement Funding will be prioritized to improve reading achievement in the school.

1. The Director will monitor completion of R.I.S.E. training monthly for all classroom teachers, and SPED teacher. Staff will complete training by May 2022, and school administration will require ESC Works printouts as proof of completion.

2. The Director will monitor the implementation of reading strategies based on the science of reading in classroom instruction. Teachers and school administration will review evidence during bi-weekly meetings and end of year formative evaluation conferences.

3. The Director will ensure monitoring of growth of students in reading through collaborative team meetings held bi-weekly, STAR and iStation assessment data every six weeks, and formative evaluation data at year's end.

4. The Director will conduct classroom walk-throughs daily to ensure written curriculum is implemented, and review pacing guides and lesson plans with teachers bi-weekly.

5. The Director will work with teachers as needed to promote buy-in for positive behavior interventions and support.

Evaluation

• The Director will work with all teachers to evaluate effectiveness of the district plan in May 2022.

• The Director and teachers will review assessment data during professional development beginning the school year to evaluate curriculum and make changes as appropriate by the end of July 2022. Science of Reading

Page 2 of 4 Arkansas Ready for Learning Components • The Director will ensure the continuity of teaching and learning by providing an ADE Standards for Accreditation compliant curriculum in the traditional learning environment. The school will employ the Buzz Learning Management System from Lincoln Learning as a virtual option. All students will be assessed either in person, or remotely using Renaissance Learning STAR assessments, and iStation assessments. • Teachers will receive an initial professional development offering on the use of the Buzz LMS and will meet weekly to discuss any issues or concerns with the LMS.

• Teachers will receive 60 hours of professional development prior to the beginning of the school year. This training will cover all traditional school curriculum, and the modifications necessary to offer the program effectively using a blended method.

• Technology will be employed with parents and students. Teachers will utilize the Remind App to communicate with parents at least weekly.

• Stakeholders will receive communications through several sources. Teachers will utilize the Remind App and a weekly newsletter to remain in contact with stakeholders. Administration will post updates to the school website and utilize the School Messenger All Call system to communicate any changes in the school's operations. Administration also will provide updates to the Walnut Ridge Times Dispatch Newspaper on a regular basis.
